Dr. Simpson owned and operated Coastal Family Clinic in Jacksonville, NC, from 1990-1995 and
operated Richlands Medical Clinic from 1995-2001. From 2002-2004 he was a partner in Medical
Park Family Physicians in Greenville, and from 2004-2006 he was Senior Staff Physician at ECU's
Student Health Service.
After his extensive experience in the variety of practice settings noted above, he is convinced that
owning and operating his own private practice offers him the most personal and professional
satisfaction, and he intends to practice at WMC for the rest of his life.
Dr. Simpson is married to Robin and they have two children, Austin and Rachel. They are members
of The Memorial Baptist Church. Robin is a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at PCMH.

Our Staff
Mr. Ellis is a native of Craven County. He received his BS in Business
Administration from Mount Olive College in 1997. He then graduated from the
East Carolina University Physician Assistant program with a BS degree in 2003.
Later that same year he completed his Masters Degree from Duke University in
Physician Assistant studies.
Mr. Ellis is Board Certified as a Physician Assistant, and he completes a minimum
of 50 hours of Continuing Education annually.
Mr. Ellis worked as a medical provider at ECU's Student Health Service from
2003-2007.

Calvin Ellis, PA-C
Dr. Simpson was born in New Bern and moved to Greenville in 1961 at age 5
where his father was a Professor at ECU. He received his BS degree in
Biology in 1978, MS in Biology in 1981, and MD degree in 1987, all from ECU. He
completed his residency at PCMH in Family Medicine in 1990.
He is Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family
Medicine. He completes a minimum of 50 hours of Continuing Medical
Education annually, as per requirements to remain Board Certified.
He is married to Stephanie, and they have three children, Brittany, Amber and Braxton. They are
members of the Gold Point Church of Christ in Robersonville. Stephanie is a nurse at PCMH.
Julie Lancaster, Receptionist
Julie joined us in 2010. She is a Kinston native who spent the last several
years living and working in New Bern. She is a graduate of Craven Community
College and East Carolina University where she studied business and medical
office administration. She lives in Greenville with her daughter, Presley.
Sharon Gambill, Medical Assistant
Marion Waters, Medical Assistant
Susan joined our practice in 2011. She previoulsy worked at Kinston Community
Health Center for four years. She enjoys horseback riding, cooking and reading.
Scrabble is her favorite board game. She plans to marry this spring. She
attended James Sprunt Community College and obtained her Associates degree
in Medical Assisting. She lives in Albertson, NC and has one daughter, Sylvia.
Susan Whaley, Medical Assistant
Marion is a Medical Assistant who previously worked at Eastern Nephrology
Associates.
She attended Southwest Edgecombe High School and Pitt Community College
where she received her medical assistant training.
She is married to Mark and they have no children
Melissa Laughinghouse, Receptionist
Melissa joined our practice in the summer of 2009. She is a student at Pitt
Community College in nursing. She loves all outdoor activities, four-wheeling,
and fishing.
Sharon was born in Texas and moved to North Carolina with her husband
in 2000. She has been a nationally Certified Medical Assistant since
1996.
Sharon lives in Farmville with her husband, Stanley, and their two children, Connor
and Dalton.
