Medicare Patients
The current state of medical care and reimbursement in this country is such that
reimbursement for all patients has dropped, the costs of running a business (particularly cost
of employees) has risen and thus the number of patients seen daily has had to increase in
order for medical practices to remain a viable business.  This is much more of a problem for
primary care practices than for specialty practices.

Thus we must see more patients, more quickly, than ever before, to remain in business.
Medicare makes little distinction in reimbursement for much more complex problems and
more numerous medical problems being treated.  This is the reason that most medical
offices spend very little time with patients and see large numbers of patients daily.

If you have Medicare insurance, and you would like for us to assume your long term care, we
kindly ask that you provide us with a
list of all prescription meds, as well as your current
primary care provider, and we will consider accepting you for long term medical care.  We will
respond to your request quickly.  We accept Medicare patients only as we are able to with
regards to total numbers of Medicare patients and current time constraints, thus all new
Medicare patients will be accepted on a case by case basis.

If any patient that has been seeing us ages into the Medicare program, then of course we will
continue to see that patient regardless of their change in insurance coverage or their
medical problems.

If you have any issue with this policy, we urge you to call or write your congressman and let
him/her know of your concerns (and mine).  If reimbursement for Medicare office visits for
primary care was better, we would not need to restrict Medicare patients.
